This study investigated the health benefits of C. spinosa leaf nano-extracts, which contain antioxidant and free radical-suppressing components as the extract acts as a reducing agent. Qualitative analysis examined the antioxidant activity of the active compounds. The second stage of this study was the green synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4-NPs) prepared by combining the plant extract with aqueous iron (II) nitrate (Fe (NO3)2.6H2O), but the Fe3O4-NPs were prepared according to the co-precipitation method, and then characterized by techniques such as FTIR, TEM, SEM, XRD, AFM, EDX, and ZP. The study also included inhibition of cancer cell growth, and determination of the size of the inhibitory zone. C. spinosa leaf extracts were also used to remove urea. Using the green synthesis method, environmentally acceptable iron oxide nanoparticles were produced. The results may be promising.
