The public discussion of a doctoral student - (Khalid Khalil A'di) from the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science - University of Anbar took place on Wednesday 11/5/2022 at Jaber bin Hayyan Hall in the College of Science for his tagged thesis:

((Evaluation of Some Biochemical Variables and   Oxidative Stress in Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in  AL-Anbar Governorate))

       The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of CL disease on some biochemical variables  and oxidative stress biomarker  levels in the serum of patients in Al-Anbar governorate, such as some sex hormones, some immune variables such as (IL-6, IL-10), and some  oxidative stress biomarker such as MDA and (T-AOC).        

 .    The results show a significant increase in the MDA and T-AOC  level in CL patients, as comparing to the control group, with a significant(P< 0.001).The immunological study of patients of CL has significantly shown elevated values of  IL-6 in the serum of patients group during infection compared with the control group (P≤ 0.001). On the other hand, the levels of IL-10 were significantly lower in the patient group than in the control group (P ≤ 0.05). The present study  show that sex hormones have not clear changes in levels in patients infected with CL..
