This study aimed to derivation the coda-duration magnitude scale for the Mesopotamian Seismological Network (MPNS) and its stations in Iraq and derivation the scaling relations between the derived coda-duration magnitude scale (MD) and local magnitude (ML), body wave magnitude (mb), and moment magnitude (MW) scales.

The study showed the reliability of using the derived equations for the Mesopotamian Seismological Network (MPNS) and its stations in calculating the MD values of earthquakes recorded by the network stations. As for the derived scaling relations between MD - ML, MD - mb, MD - Ms, and MD - MW a significantly strong, and they could be used quickly and reliably to calculate ML, mb, and MW based on MD for earthquakes recorded by the MPNS stations and vice versa.
