(On the occasion of World Soil Day) Distinguished participation of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre in a scientific symposium at the College of Agriculture


Prof. Dr. Esam Khudair Hamza, a researcher at the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, participated in the scientific symposium held by the Department of Soil and Water at the College of Agriculture - University of Anbar on the occasion of the World Soil Day, which falls on the fifth of December of each year.

Prof. Dr. Esam Khudair Hamza gave a valuable scientific lecture on climate change and its impact on the agricultural sector, especially with regard to water resources, rain and agricultural soil, as well as the subject of the reasons that led to these changes and the concept of these changes and its terminology from a historical point of view, down to the most important ways and means that can be followed to reduce the effects of these changes on a country such as Iraq, which is one of the countries most affected by climate change.

The symposium witnessed a large scientific and academic presence by professors and specialists, in addition to many departments of the province, foremost of which was the Department of Environment in Anbar Governorate, stressing the importance of this issue for the environment in the province. The Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center also participated with a delegation that included Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Esam Mohamed Abdel Hamid, a researcher in the Planning and Databases Department, in addition to the agricultural engineer Ahmed Majed from the Human Resources Department.
