Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre participates in an international symposium on water resources management in Iraq and Germany


Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, representing the University of Anbar, participated in the virtual symposium held by the DAAD Centre (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) specialized in international academic cooperation (KIWI) in cooperation with the DAAD offices, in Amman and Erbil, with the participation of Iraqi universities, universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and German universities, on water resources management in Iraq and Germany, and the symposium aims to bring together researchers from various disciplines participating in this topic.

The symposium included several themes and workshops in the field of water resources management, such as:

-         Water resources management and the effects of climate change.

-         Agriculture and the impact of climate change.

-         Theme of hydrology, hydraulics and designs of hydraulic installations.

-         Applications of artificial intelligence in the field of water resources management.

-         The effect of water changes on food production.

During the symposium and workshops, the most important scholarship programs for research, and postgraduate scholarships for masters and doctorates, offered and available by the German side and the possibility of benefiting from them for Iraqi students and researchers, were also reviewed.
