Within the skills building project for local civil activists and human rights defenders ((community initiatives)), a discussion session was held on Tuesday, 23/5/2023 on: (Climate change and its impact on water scarcity). which was established in the Anbar Environment Directorate in cooperation with civil society organizations. In view of the effective contributions of the staff of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre in such important events that contribute to finding appropriate solutions to the water crisis through the research provided by the centre's staff, the Head of the Natural Resources Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Mouneer Naji Ahmed and Assistant researchers head Mr. Yasser Marei Nayef, participated in the activities of this session as representatives of the Centre.

Note that the workshop was attended by a number of employees and representatives of human rights in Anbar province and specialists in the field of water and the environment, in which the spotlight was focused on the problem that appeared in the Angour area and what are the necessary and quick solutions for treatment, as well as the quantity and quality of water from the Euphrates River, the diseases that have recently emerged and the problem of growing insects, which have increased due to the increased growth of reed plants in the Euphrates River.

At the end of the session, specialists in this field recommended holding an emergency meeting to find quick and sustainable solutions to serve the citizens of Anbar province.
