Joint research team to address the problem of seepage from Habbaniyah leak


       A joint research team was formed between University of Anbar and governorate office to study the effects of Habbaniyah Lake on its vicinity lands houses, and private or public properties. The University of Anbar is represented in this team by Dr. Isam Mohammed Abdul Hameed , Engineer Inst. Salah Sabbar Thmail, (from our center), and Dr. Saif Al-Din Abdul Razzaq Salem (Center for Desert Studies).

The research team observed Lake of Habbaniyah, its surrounding areas to diagnose the problem, and the team came up with a number of recommendations. Anbar governorate office then instructed the relevant departments to take action to control water seepage to homes and public and private properties adjacent to the lake.
