Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre announces the weather for the next (10) days


The Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre announced the weather for a period of (10) days hopefully, starting from Tuesday, 9/7/2024 until Friday, 19/7/2024.

Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mekhlif, a climate expert at the Department of Natural Resources Development, stated that Iraq, especially the central and southern region, will be exposed to a heat wave for a period of 5 (days), starting from Tuesday, 9/7/2024, until Friday, 12/7/2024, as the weather will be very hot as a result of the Indian seasonal depression controlling the Iraq, which is expected to exceed the maximum temperatures in Basra and Nasiriyah (51 °C). After that, on Friday and Saturday, 12-13/7/2024, the effect of the north-western Al-Bawareh winds hopefully active in several regions of the Iraq, especially the western, central and southern, which causes severe drought with the provocation of dust waves, and then its activity returns, as well as starting from Thursday 18/7/2024 and lasting for a week.

As for the amount of solar radiation for today, Tuesday, 9/7/2024, it reached the highest in the western and southwestern region of the Iraq as shown in the map at a rate of 1100 watt/m2.
