Volume of wind and solar energy are available at the UEBDC station

Within the vision and plans of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre to achieve sustainable development goals, including the seventh goal (renewable energy at affordable prices) and to achieve the university's strategic plans to expand the trend towards the use of renewable and clean energies within the university's vision 2030 and spread the culture of using this type of energy, the Planning and Databases Department at the centre, in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Research Centre at the University of Anbar, issued data on renewable energy available according to measurements and data available from the centre's meteorological station.

The data included the rates of available wind energy throughout the days of last March, as well as a graph showing the amount of available wind energy and its change as the measured wind speed changes.

The data also included the amount of solar energy available based on measurements and data provided by the meteorological station in the centre with a comparison of the amount of energy available from each type of renewable energy (wind and solar).

Dr. Atheer Saleem Al-Mawla, official of the hydrological meteorological station at the centre, said that the aim of the new issue, which will be monthly and in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Research Centre, is to increase knowledge and spread the use of these energies, which represent the future of energy in Iraq and the world, in addition to providing important data for researchers and graduate students in this field within the goals and directions of the centre and the university to achieve the 2030 vision for sustainable development.
