Environmental planning and its role in achieving sustainable development


This day was concluded in the central hall of the College of Education for Human Sciences, the training course tagged (Environmental Planning and its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development), which was held by the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the Presidency of the University, which lasted three days. Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Muhammad Khalaf, in addition to Assistant Professor Dr. Zuhair Al-Qaisi, Director of the Rehabilitation and Employment Division, lectured and dialogues, while the lectures and dialogues were moderated by Dr. Ahmed Sobhi from the Rehabilitation and Employment Division.

The course included lectures on defining the concept of environmental sustainability and sustainable environmental planning for natural resources, including water resources, in addition to introducing and raising awareness of sustainable development goals, in addition to the role of environmental planning in achieving the concept of sustainable development. The course also included practical training on the sustainability of watersheds, dams and small reservoirs for harvesting water and the selection of their sites according to the requirements and concept of sustainable development. The conclusion of the course was attended by Prof. Dr. Taha Ibrahim Shabib, Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Dr. Ehab Majeed Mahmoud Jarad, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and a number of college professors.
