In a joint lecture with the Director of the Renewable Energy Research Centre, Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Hashem Khalil, the Director of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, participated in the work of the participatory forum, which was held at the College of Agriculture under the title: "The future of our children by the sustainability of our wealth." which concluded on Thursday, the tenth of November, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mushtak Taleb Al-Neda, President of University of Anbar under the title: "Sustainable Development Approaches for Effective and Rational Management of Water and Environmental Resources”, The forum focused on the water reality in Anbar province, modern methods of irrigation, rationalization of consumption, ways to rely on alternative energy, the reality of agricultural soils and the preservation of their fertility.

The lecture was entitled "The Use of Renewable Energy in Irrigation and Agriculture" and focused on water scarcity and the impact of dam projects in Turkey and Syria, in addition to climate changes on Iraq's water imports and their repercussions on various economic and social actors in Iraq, especially the agriculture sector, which constitutes 86% of Iraq's water needs, the need to use modern irrigation methods and the rational use of groundwater. While Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Hashem Khaleel focused on the importance of using renewable energy in agriculture and supporting modern irrigation systems through the use of clean and affordable energy and the development of modern agricultural methods, which ultimately leads to achieving the goals of sustainable development and Iraq's Vision 2030.
