A team from the Planning and Databases Department that included Dr. Ahmed Saud Mohammed and Dr. Atheer Salim Obaid, in addition to Engineer Juma’a Mohammed Ahmed and Mr. Bassem Mohammed Mustafa from the terminal station’s staff, completed the installation and operation of an advanced meteorological system at the site of the centre’s terminal station in the Haditha district as part of the centre’s plans to establish a network of meteorological and hydrological stations for the purpose of developing databases of meteorological and hydrological in the cities of Upper Euphrates. Furthermore, a training course was also organized for the station's staff to train on the operation of this system and collect data to ensure that the database obtained from these measurements is highly reliable.

It is hoped that these data will play a major role in providing researchers, postgraduate students and other research centres at the University of Anbar and universities and other state institutions with the necessary data for studies and research on climate change and water resources management in the Upper Euphrates watersheds and valleys, in addition to environmental and geo-climate studies, renewable energies and combating desertification, all of which need this type of data, in addition to studies on the development of digital models for the hydrology of the catchment valleys or related to modelling  Prediction of climate change.

The team and the staff of the terminal station also completed the surface runoff measurement station within the valley that penetrates the site of the College of Basic Education – Haditha, in preparation for the rainy season and the possibility of monitoring the floods and the amount of water incomes within the centre’s plans to complete a comprehensive hydrological study of the region.
