Rehabilitation and reinstallation the digital weather station

According to the directives of the university presidency to activate scientific and research cooperation and partnerships between research and service centers at the university, a joint team from the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center and the Computer Center at the University of Anbar succeeded in repairing, rehabilitating and operating an advanced digital weather station to become the second digital station of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center after the first station operating at the center's headquarters.

It will be installed and entered into service at the terminal station in Haditha, to be part of a network of meteorological monitoring that the Center plans to spread in different areas of the upper Euphrates to provide and build a database through which to conduct extensive and detailed studies on climate changes and renewable energies, in addition to build models to predict water incomes in the valley basins as well as the Euphrates River, all of which need data and meteorological measurements and calculating various hydrological variables.

The team was able to rehabilitate the station after four months of hard works, which included preparing and connecting the missing parts, inserting electronic codes, some spare parts and connections to connect them with the computer, reading, transferring and saving data in the computer after communicating with the American manufacturer through a Ph.D. student in the United States, Haitham Zeidan Hussein from the Department of Dams and water resources, who prepared spare parts and shipped them by express (DHL).

This work was achieved by a team consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Isam Taha Yassin, the assistant instructor Hussam Jassim Ali, and Eng. Abdul Kareem Hameed Khaleefa from the Electronic Computer Center and Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yasseen Neda, Dr Atheer Saleem Al Mawla, and the assistant Instructor Salah Sabbar Thamail from the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center.
