Electricity between bad reality, solutions and visions for the future


     Under the auspices of Professor Mushtak Talib Saleh Al-Neda, the President of the University of Anbar, The Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center participated in the scientific symposium held by the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and in cooperation with the Directorate of Electricity Power in Anbar province and the Renewable Energy Research Center- University of Anbar.

       The symposium name is: {Electricity between bad reality and solutions and visions for the future} at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, 22-03- 2022, at the Electrical Engineering Department Headquarter of the College of Engineering. During the symposium, several topics related to the electric power crisis and possible solutions were discussed, with a number of scientific papers such as:

-         Electricity crisis in Anbar province / Senior Engineer Essam Karim Hammadi.

-         The real reasons for the deterioration of electricity in the distribution sector and future solutions / Chief Engineer Saadi Jassim Hammadi.

-         Development of Euphrates River systems in Anbar province to generate electricity / Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel.

-         Waste power plants are the perfect solution for energy alternatives/ Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ismail Mohammed.

-         Renewable energy and its role in addressing Iraq’s electricity sector/ Assist. Inst. Firas Fadhil Saleh.

      During the symposium, ideas were also discussed and exchanged on what was presented in the sessions. Finally, the recommendations were announced. The most important of these recommendations is to approach the responsible authorities to activate these suggestions and work with them because they solve even part of the electricity problem that the Iraqi people in general and Anbar province in particular suffer from.
