        In line with the directions of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center and its vision of the need to integrate with the various state institutions to build real databases establishing solid scientific research that could be a basis for the comprehensive development of the Upper Euphrates region, A delegation from the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center headed by Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Center, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Saud Mohammed, Head of Planning and Databases, and Dr. Atheer Saleem Al Mawla, researcher in the Planning and Databases Department, visited the administration of the Haditha Dam project. They were received by Engineer Tarek Battal, director of the project, who expressed his high welcome to the meeting and stressed the need for these meetings and communication between the university and the workers in the field of work, because communication and exchange of ideas with the site can reflect positively on the design and operation of any project by studying the problems that can occur and develop solutions to them and the resulting development of various engineering cadres and even curricula that can develop towards topics that have a direct relationship with the field of work and the site.

     On the instructions of the University Presidency, the Director of the Center stressed the openness to all state service and scientific institutions to integrate together, thereby enhancing its role in serving the community and the center's objectives for achieving comprehensive development based on real databases and sober scientific research. He also stressed the keenness of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center to continue communication and coordination with the administration of Haditha dam project through joint activities represented by joint conferences and seminars and it was agreed during the meeting to develop the formula of a memorandum of scientific understanding and obtain the approvals of the relevant authorities for the purpose of exchanging information and establishing a joint database of the Euphrates River along the river bed within Anbar province and forming joint research teams to conduct research and studies including the hydraulic, hydrological and environmental aspects of the river and in order to serve and establish the support development plans in the region and establish joint development courses for human staffs working in the field of operation and maintenance of hydraulic facilities such as dams and reservoirs. It was also agreed to collaborate with international institutions and organizations specialized in the field of dams and water resources through the administration of Haditha dam project because of the presence of a number of organizations such as the Organization for the Operation of International Dams and others have agreements and memorandums for cooperation with the General Authority for Dams and Reservoirs and the administration of Haditha dam project with development and training programs in the field of dams and water resources. The meeting was attended by Engineer Abdul Basit Turki assistant director of the Haitha dam project.
