One of the Researchers in Our Center Participates in the Meeting of Arab Experts

Assistant Instructor Salah Sabbar Thmail, a researcher at the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center, participated on Wednesday, 24 November 2021, at the eighth meeting of the Technical Committee of Arab Experts at the invitation of the United Nations ESCWA Technology Center (UN Economic and Social Commission for West Asia) on zoom platform.

This meeting aims to discuss the appropriate technologies necessary for member countries that can help achieve them and identify tools that help promote the creation, acceleration, and empowerment of the environment and exchange experiences on innovative technologies as well as promote the transfer and adaptation of green technology in Arab countries, in addition to developing partnerships with regional and international organizations and decision-makers to maximize the use of natural resources.

During the meeting, researcher Salah Sabbar presented his study on the development of the use of destruction residues and their conversion into environmentally friendly materials, after grinding debris residues and testing them in the laboratory, and using them in road engineering work such as the manufacture of curbstone and the concrete in pavement layers.

Through the researcher's presentation of his study, he requested international support from external organizations such as ESCWA to implement a plan to rid the environment of construction waste and make it environmentally friendly, and thereby expanding green technology in sustainable development.

Experts from various Arab countries participated in the meeting, including Mr. Nael Al-Malak from Jordan, director of ESCWA, Syrian expert Dr. Zaghloul, and others with experience and competence.

We wish researcher Salah Sabbar more brilliance and success in his scientific career.
