New Creation (Patented) by A Member of College of Geometry Teaching Staff – University of Anbar

Asst. Prof Dr. Zaid Muhammad Kani, in the Department of Dams and Water Resources Geometry - College of Geometry - University of Anbar, obtained a patent issued by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control - Ministry of Planning - Republic of Iraq.

A New Structure for Checking Shear Buckling of Plate Steel Bridges Using Four Joint Mechanics

 In this work (Patented), the researcher has developed a new method with a very low cost compared to the original examination model by designing and manufacturing a special examination structure with dimensions (850 x 750) mm. This structure is characterized by its ability to hold the iron plate, mechanically fix it, and shed the shear load on it and thwart it without the need to manufacture the entire iron bridge as usual. The feasibility study showed that examining the plate under shear stress by the new method costs one to twenty (1/20) of the cost of manufacturing the steel bridge model and examining it under the same load.
