A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology visits the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at University of Anbar


In order to activate the memorandum of cooperation between the University of Anbar and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and in implementation of the university's strategic plan in achieving the sustainable developing goals and Vision 2030, especially related to the seventeenth goal (partnerships to achieve the goals), a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology / Department of Environment, Water and Renewable Energy, visited the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, the delegation was consisted of:

1.     Dr. Maytham Abdullah Sultan, Director / Environmental Research Centre/ Head of the delegation.

2.     Dr. Kamal Barzan Nada / Head of the Organic Research Division.

3.     Dr. Ali Abdel Reda Ajeel / Head of the Environmental Isotopes Division.

4.     Engineer Ali Abbas Jassim / Environmental Isotopes Division.

This visit came in order to open the horizons of scientific cooperation in several fields, especially in the field of environment and water, as well as to agree on a protocol for cooperation in the laboratory field, because of the capabilities of the two parties of the laboratories, which helps to integrate the capabilities of the two parties, as well as to exchange visits in order to consolidate cooperation frameworks, and the work of introductory workshops for both sides, and find mechanisms to work together in developing and research projects that have a role in achieving a clean and sustainable environment, as well as in the field of water management, in addition to communication Among the members of the research team for the completion of the environmental isotopic research, in which researchers from the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre - University of Anbar and the Environment, Water and Renewable Energy Research Centre participate.

The visiting delegation was briefed through a field tour in the centre’s laboratories on the most important research projects and studies conducted by researchers at the centre, and the two parties agreed to complete a number of proposed applied research, and that the next meeting will be at the Center for Environment, Water and Renewable Energy.
