This study presents with the synthesis and characterization of two new precursors (P1 and P2) and four new Schiff bases tetra aza macrocyclic (TAM) ligands. The four new ligands L1, L2, L3, and L4 bind to the metal ions M (II) = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Fe, and Hg through the nitrogen atoms in the imine groups, thus forming tetra dentate ligands. This can be confirmed by ? (M-N) in FT-IR measurements
