Discussion of a doctoral dissertation by the student, Rawa Asim Muhammad

The public discussion of the doctoral dissertation of the student (Rawaa Asim Muhammad), Department of Physics - College of Science - University of Anbar took place on Monday 3/20/2023 in the Jaber Bin Hayan Hall for her thesis tagged:
((Manufacturing and studying the electrical properties of metal-silicon sulfate nanostructures for solar cells affected by radiation))

The research aimed to study the effect of irradiation with beta and gamma rays on some properties of three types of metal sulfides (tin sulfide, copper sulfide, manganese sulfide) prepared by spray pyrolysis technology for solar cell applications.  The prepared thin films were examined using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and electron-ultraviolet absorbance before and after irradiation with pure beta source (Sr-90) and by gamma source (Co-60) for 5 hours, 1 day, and 2 days.  The results showed higher effects of gamma radiation than beta irradiation on the structural properties such as reducing the degree of crystallinity and size of crystals, as well as the obvious effect on the surface shape, and its effect on the optical properties.
