A new patent in the College of Science

A patent in the College of Science - University of Anbar for ((Design and manufacture of an electric arc system for the production of carbon nanotubes from industrial waste)) As the teaching assistant Dr. Yusra Mahmood Hammadi Al-Obaidi and the master’s student Mohammad Assim Hussein Al-Fahdawi  obtained a patent tagged ((Design and manufacture of an electric arc system for the production of carbon nanotubes from industrial waste)).

In this invention, the electric arc system was designed and manufactured from locally available raw materials. The manufactured electric arc system was used to produce carbon nanotubes from industrial waste.

The resulting carbon nanotubes were diagnosed using various techniques such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Field Emission, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD), where carbon nanotubes with a diameter ranging from From (4) to (11) nm and a length from (120) to (1182) nm.

It is worth mentioning that this patent is part of the master's thesis of the student Mohammad Assim Hussein, a tutor at the Anbar Education Directorate.
