(Evaluation of antimicrobial activities of silver nanoparticles immobilized in porous aerogel)

 The study aimed to reduce the toxicity of silver nanoparticles and reduce their colloidal aggregation by attaching them to the surface of a biologically active material. Low molecular weight chitosan was used in the preparation of hydrogel granules to produce an emerging class of bio-structured hybrid materials. An accurate diagnostic study of silver nanoparticles and CS-AgNPs complex was carried out by various techniques. The hydrogel granules were dried using freeze drying. The antibacterial activity of these prepared materials was tested on Six bacterial genera in various ways, and the results revealed the possibilities of applying chitosan-silver nanocomposites to create new effective antibacterial systems.
