Association of vitamin B12, Homocysteine and some Biomarkers with metformin therapy in Iraqi type2 diabetic patients.

The study aims to measure type 2 diabetes, formerly known as adult diabetes, a form of diabetes characterized by relative insulin resistance. This study aims to assess serum levels of vitamin B12 and homocysteine in patients with type 2 diabetes in Iraqi patients taking metformin doses and discover the relationship between these two variables with some important clinical measurements in different doses including (1) group taking doses ≤ 1000mgday and group (2) taking metformin doses≥1500mgday. Insulin levels for fasting people showed a significant increase in the group (1) (2) compared to the group of healthy group. Serological evaluation of creatinine also showed a significant increase in group (1) (2) compared to healthy group, while vitamin B12 showed a significant decrease in the group (1) (2) compared to the group of the healthy group as well as folic acid, homocysteine levels showed compared to the group(1) (2) of healthy group.
