A new patent in the College of Science

A research team from the Coolge of Science - University of Anbar obtains a patent entitled ((The protective effect of moringa oleifera seed extract in reducing the toxicity of nano-lead in male albino rats)) and the research team consisted of Prof. Dr. Abid Ali Thakir, a lecturer in the Department of Biology and Prof. Dr. Esmat Ramzy Abdul Ghafoor, a lecturer in the Physics Department and a Dr. Faham Jassim Muhammad, a lecturer in the Department of Biology, and the aim of the study was to reduce the toxicity of heavy metals with nanostructures by using Moringa leaf extract.

This study included research on the possibility of using Moringa oleifera seed extract to prevent poisoning induced by each nano-lead in Wistar Rats. Moringa at a concentration of 160 mg/kg, the second with commercial nano-lead at a concentration of 5 mg/kg, the third with prepared nano-lead at a concentration of 5.3 mg/kg, the fourth with Moringa seed extract + commercial nano-lead, the fifth with Moringa seed extract + prepared nano-lead, and the sixth group is the control group. The accumulated lead in the organs of rats and its effects on some biochemical and physiological aspects, antioxidants, and histological variables. The results showed that Moringa extract had a promising preventive effect against nano-lead toxicity in all studied variables.

It is worth noting that the research teams in the College of Science have many patents in various fields of science.
