A scientific course on primer design and the quantitative chain reaction

The Department of Biotechnology in the College of Science conducted a scientific course entitled “Priming Design and the Chain Reactiona” which lasted for two consecutive days and concluded today Wednesday 16/3/2022. Bioinformatics in designing different primers with high efficiency and perfect design. The head of the biotechnology department, Prof. Dr. Safaa Abdul Latif Al-Ma’ini, gave two lectures on the first and second day, which included an explanation of the factors affecting the chain reaction, the problems and obstacles that accompany this interaction and how to solve them And access to the ideal interaction. As for the second lecture, it included how to design an ideal primer and the bioinformatics programs that are used in the design. Also, the assistant professor, Dr. Huda Muslih Mahmoud gave a lecture on extracting nucleic acids from different sources. The practical side included the extraction and purification of chromosomal DNA from bacteria. Measurement of its concentration and purity using a nanodrop device and the use of electrophoresis separation and m Then, a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was performed for bacteria genes. The work was under the supervision of the assistant lecturer, Mohammed Mukhles Ahmed, and a large number of researchers and graduate students from various colleges participated in this course.
