A qualitative lecture in the College of Science

In order to activate the memorandums of understanding concluded by the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, with Arab and foreign universities, the College of Science at Anbar University hosted a qualitative in-person electronic lecture entitled “Design and Build a CW Carbon Dioxide Laser for Nanotechnology Applications,” presented by Associate Professor Dr. Nasser Muhammad Ahmed, Professor of Physics at University of Science Malaysia.

The lecture, which was held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Ibn Sina Hall, dealt with the principles and concepts of lasers, their types, and their applications in various fields, especially in nanotechnology, which is the science that studies the properties, interactions, and applications of materials, devices, and systems at the nanometer level.
The lecturer explained how to design and build a CW carbon dioxide laser, which is a type of laser that emits continuous, uninterrupted beams, which are used in drilling, cutting, welding, medical diagnosis, physical therapy, and scientific research.
