Dr. AbdulRazzaq Al-Essa, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, hailed the elections of Iraqi Academics Syndicate and urged them to find out common ground away from politicization and personal benefits.

In his inauguration speech of the central conference to elect the first general congress of Iraqi Academics Syndicate El-Essa said that the syndicate and its deputies are embarking on a job of no small measure but would be quite fruitful if utilized to serve the academic community. He drew attention to the priority of high care of any factors that might erode this mission in case it be employed by some other party or its members practice the role of an authority rather than being the academic voice. The minister added that union work is independent and aims at optimize the academics, the merits of his/her work, the atmosphere of his/her creativity, and ensuring his/her rights. He stressed the importance of the work in a shared zone away from narrow interests, stressing that the union shall always be the voice of academics as long as the ministry of higher education & scientific research has been and remains the voice of university professor in Iraq.

El-Essa wished the winners in the elections prosperity and success in their work and creativity which is deeply rooted in the heritage of Iraqi universities and the long-standing academic institutions.
