Foundation of a sustainable international research partnership with the French University of Cergy

In implementation of the intensive work program and the invitations presented by the French Embassy in Baghdad and the distinguished French universities to the University of Anbar, a delegation from our university headed by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Neda, and the membership of the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Dean of the College of Sciences, and the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, visited, in the presence of Mrs. Bernadicchio, the French Scientific and university cooperation Attaché in Baghdad, the CY Cergy University, known for its weight and academic influence at the French and European levels, which has an international alliance and partnership with 27 other French universities and 500 international memorandums of understanding.

The establishment of an international partnership was negotiated through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities aimed at enhancing the skills of undergraduate and postgraduate students, in addition to activating the visiting professor program and increasing the volume of research grants for Iraqi students and University of Anbar in particular.

The President of the University also emphasized focusing on topics of common interest, including water resources, renewable energy, combating desertification, and sustainable development as a starting point for expanding the scope of joint international research cooperation. At the conclusion of the visit, representatives of CY Cergy University expressed their happiness with the achievements of University of Anbar and its established strategic plan, and their desire to establish an international real research partnership.
