A memorandum of understanding with the Jordan University of Science and Technology

In implementation of the aspirations and strategic plan of our University, and linking it scientifically and academically with discerning international and regional universities to serve our dear country, the President of the University of Anbar, Prof. Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Nida, at the head of a high-level delegation, has visited the Jordan University of Science and Technology to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two universities. The memorandum aims at strengthening scientific cooperation frameworks, exchanging expertise, delivering lectures, conducting joint research, and co-supervising postgraduate theses and dissertations. The memorandum also includes an invitation to participate in scientific conferences and seminars, and to organize scientific and cultural visits for students.

For his part, the President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, expressed his pleasure at signing this memorandum due to the scientific and academic status the University of Anbar enjoys locally and internationally, reinforced by its position at the forefront of international rankings at the level of Iraq, including the famous British Times Ranking. The President of the University of Anbar expressed his pleasure with this visit, stressing that the University opens all doors of scientific and academic cooperation with the Jordan University of Science and Technology, directing all University faculties to activate this memorandum in a way that serves the interests of both parties and our dear country. 

The delegation also paid visits to Princess Haya Research Center, the Nanotechnology Center and the Center for Excellence in order to link our University researchers with the researchers at these centers. In a related context, the two universities will work to cooperate with each other in order to apply for grant programs of the European Union and international scientific bodies awarding and funding solid research.

 

The delegation consisted of Prof. Dr. Nihad Mohamed Abboud, Director of the Center for Desert Studies and a representative of the research centers at the University, Prof. Dr. Qutaiba Farhan Dawood, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, Dr. Duraid Moayad Abd, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at the Presidency of the University, and Dr. Omar Khaldoun Abdelrahman, Head of the Global Classifications Unit at the office of the President of the University.
