Within the activities of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Centre at the Presidency of the University of Anbar, a course tagged (bacteriological and chemical tests of water) was held at the centre's headquarters for a period of three days for the period from Sunday, 14/5/2023 until Tuesday 16/5/2023.

The course, which was attended by a number of researchers and specialists in the field of laboratory analysis, was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Arshad Ali, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Badie Farhan.

The course included lectures on the most important bacteriological and chemical tests of water according to the feasibility and quality of water and its uses for agriculture and human, animal and industrial use, and what are the indicators of pollution according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization for the permissible limits of concentrations of elements and chemical compounds and the number of bacteria and according to water use? In the field of bacteriological tests, it reviewed the most important bacterial evidence for the detection of water contamination with fecal bacteria as indicators of the sources of cholera, typhoid and other diseases that affect humans, with a focus on the need for periodic examination of water, both chemical and bacterial, because of its important relationship to human health. The course concluded with an examination for the course participants.
