 DVT- Deep veinous thrombosis:-

Is  a formation of blood clot forms in a deep vein. Clots in the lower leg, thigh, or pelvis are most common, but they can also occur in the arm less frequently.

Migration of DVT can be a severe medical condition because blood clots in the veins can travel through the bloodstream and become stuck in the lungs leading to pulmonary embolism PE. It can be a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention.

 anyone can be a candidate for DVT.
 RISK FACTORS 
1. Injury to a vein due to trauma or major surgery

2. Stasis of blood flow due to immobilisation.

3. Increased estrogen because of using contra ceptive pills.

4. Certain chronic medical illnesses, like heart disease, lung disease, cancer, or inflammatory bowel disease.

5. Other factors that increase the risk of DVT may include previous DVT or PE, family history of DVT or PE, age, obesity, inherited clotting disorders, or a catheter located in a central vein.
