The Department of History held a scientific symposium (Turks and their role in the Islamic Arab State in the Rashidi and Amawi times a historical study) presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Seham Jamil Jassim. The symposium included three themes where the first axis dealt with Turkish origin, qualities and religion. The second axis addressed their role in the Rashidi era by highlighting the emergence of Turks and their links in the Islamic Arab State after the Arab-Islamic conquest, stressing that the use of Turks was not the beginning of the era of the Abbasid Caliph, which is pivotal to Allah, as stated in the writings of historians.
