 The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education for Humanities, in cooperation with the College of Computer and Information Technology and within the initiative (The Journey of Light, Shining Science and Knowledge in the Future), held a scientific workshop entitled (Protecting Personal Data in the Age of the Internet) on Monday, 6/10/2024, at eleven in the morning.  And in the Abu Al-Thanaa Al-Alusi Hall in the college, lectured by: Prof. Ahmed Jassim Al-Jaff and Prof. Dr.  Makarem Abdel Wahed Turki. 

 The workshop addressed several topics, including: the concept of personal data, its types, the importance of protecting it, and the protection of personal data. 

 The workshop aims to: how to manage and protect personal data, identify common threats, and apply basic protection practices. 

 The most important recommendations of the workshop were:

 Governmental and private institutions must protect their electronic computer devices from locking and hacking.

 - The necessity of protecting the individual and society, because the individual himself must be aware of the entity and source he is addressing when requesting personal data, especially giving a strong password (passward).

 - They provided advice and guidance that serves everyone.

 The workshop was attended by a number of distinguished professors, and after the end of the workshop, the lecturers gave the opportunity to ask questions and make interventions. The attendees asked a number of questions that were answered by the lecturers.

 In conclusion, everyone thanked the efforts of the College of Education for Humanities and the Women’s Affairs Unit for providing the opportunity to exchange ideas between professors, and stressed the necessity of communication, for the purpose of re-working on holding meetings and other training courses.
