The Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Center hosted an electronic scientific symposium entitled: "Sustainable Environmental Development in Iraq and Challenges", hosted by Prof. Dr. Nawzad Abdul Rahman Al-Hitee, Professor of Sustainable Development at the Diplomatic Institute and Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar on the Google Meet, on Thursday evening at 3:12 p.m. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Al-Hitee Explained several things, the most important of which were:

-      Sustainable environmental development in the international documents.

-      Sustainability study methodology.

-      Sustainable environmental development at the international summits.

-      United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (Earth Summit).

-      United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

-      United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.

-      United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

-      Ranking of the world's top 10 countries in the 2020 Sustainable Development Index.

-      Ranking of the 10 worst countries in the world.

-      Iraq's ranking in the Sustainable Development Index (2016-2020).

For his part, the discussion was opened after the completion of the presentation and the attendees talked about the problems of environmental development in Iraq and ways to improve them. 

Attendees will receive a certificate in recognition of their participation in the electronic seminar.
