Fundamentals of sober scientific research

In continuation of the activities and events provided by the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre / Human Resources Development Department, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Centre at the Presidency of the University of Anbar, and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Centre, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, the free training course tagged: (Fundamentals of Sober Scientific Research), which lasted for three days for the period 2-4/6/2024, was concluded on Tuesday, 4/6/2024, on the main hall of the Centre.

A number of researchers in the Human Resources Development Department at the Centre lectured in the course, namely: Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yasseen Neda, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mukhlif, and Teacher Dr. Ahmed Taha Yasseen, the course, which included several important topics for researchers and specialists in the field of scientific publishing, which was addressed from several different aspects.

The first lecture was by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yasseen, which was entitled: (Scientific Research: Foundations and Concepts), in which he touched on the definitions of research, the main types of scientific research, what are the characteristics of a distinguished researcher, and the difference between research and study).

The second lecture by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam, which was entitled: (Ethics of Scientific Research), through which he presented (a definition of the term research ethics, the definition of the meaning of scientific research, and what are the qualities and obligations that the researcher must have and must adhere to, which represent the ethics of scientific research).

The third lecture was presented by the teacher, Dr. Ahmed Taha, a lecture entitled: (Scientific Research Methods), which dealt with an introduction to scientific research methods, the definition of the meaning of the method, the definition of methodology, identifying the importance, characteristics and objectives of scientific research methods, and addressing the qualities that must be available in the scientific research method, in addition to knowing the types of scientific research methods, and access to the descriptive method and the historical method as part of these curricula).

The course witnessed the presence of the center's researchers and a number of faculty and researchers from colleges and research centers at the university, and the course included some questions in the axes of scientific research methods, and concluded with a test in the topics that were presented in the course for all participants.
