Continued monitoring of the flow of floods.... The valleys of the western region are running rivers

For the second day in a row, the cadres of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre – University of Anbar continue to monitor and measure rainfall events in the western region, and Engineer Juma’a Muhammad Ahmed, terminal station employee in Haditha, said that the flood discharges of Horan valley have increased significantly at the location of the measurement station near the Ramadi-Haditha road, to record at eleven o'clock in the morning, Monday 25-3-2024, a discharge of 260 cubic meters per second, in an indication of the arrival of flood water that collected in the upper valley as a result of quantities of the rain which exceeded 64 mm, as runoff collected from several branches to flow into the main course of the valley before reaching the Euphrates River.

As for the valleys of Zaghdan and Hajlan, runoff recorded a decrease from their levels yesterday, and Zaghdan valley recorded a discharge of 3.75 cubic meters per second before noon today, Monday 25-3-2024, while Hajlan valley inside the city of Rutba recorded a discharge of 2.8 cubic meters per second as a result of the receding rain, which decreased on Sunday evening to 2 mm after recording 25 mm in the morning and afternoon of the same day.

Engineer Ahmed Ismail Odeh stated that the discharge of Horan valley at the centre’s measurement station in the city of Rutba amounted to 90 cubic meters per second after midnight on March 24/25, 2024, and decreased at eleven o'clock in the morning on Monday 25-3-2024 to record 52.5 cubic meters per second.

As for Al-Massad valley, which flows into Horan valley after the city of Rutba, it recorded a discharge of 35 cubic meters per second at eleven o'clock in the morning on Monday 25-3-2024.
