Statistics about the rainfall wave on 19-20/11/2023

The Planning and Databases Department at the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre announced the latest statistics regarding the rainfall wave within the upper Euphrates areas in Anbar province.

Dr Atheer Salim Al-Mawla, in charge of the weather station at the Centre, said that the amounts of rain recorded at the Centre’s station within the campus of the University of Anbar reached (3.2) mm, while the rainfall recorded at the terminal station in Haditha was much higher, reaching (12.15) mm, while no significant rain was recorded within the Rutba station.

Engineer Juma Mohamed Ahmed, terminal station’s official in Haditha, stated that the runoff events of Hajlan Valley continued until seven o'clock in the morning, Monday 20-11-2023, after the peak of the discharge was recorded at four o'clock in the afternoon yesterday, Sunday 19-11-2023, amounting to (15) cubic meters per second, and the quantities of water flowing in the valley amounted to (400,000) four hundred thousand cubic meters.

There is no rainfall wave recorded Zaghdan, Horan, and Banat Elhasan valleys. Whereas runoff events were recorded in Al-Hadadiya valley which ends at the Euphrates River near Barwana town and also in Alsagra vealley between Anahand Haditha as well as Al-Khasfa region near Al-Fehaimy velley.
