Centres of University Anbar Participate in a Scientific Symposium at the Prime Minister's Office

The Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre participated with the research centres at the University of Anbar ((Centre for Desert Studies and Renewable Energy Research Centre in addition to the Centre for Strategic Studies)) as part of the delegation participating in the scientific symposium tagged: ((The role of studies and research centres in the success of the government program)) held by the Prime Minister's Office.

The University of Anbar participated with a high-level delegation headed by Prof. Dr. (Mushtak Taleb Nada) and included in its membership Prof. Dr. (Atheer Anwar Sharif), Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, and the directors of research centres at the university, in addition to Assistant Professor Dr. (Abdulaziz Khader Abbas), Advisor to the President of the University for Public Relations and researcher at the Centre for Strategic Studies. The symposium included three main themes:

1-    the document of desertification and drought and ways to address it, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Atheer Anwar Sharif, Assistant President of University of Anbar for Administrative Affairs.

2-    Water salinity and required alternatives.

3-    Wasted wealth and sustainable development.

The participants and advisors in charge of the symposium praised the active participation, ideas and interventions of the university delegation, appreciating the great role of the presidency of the University of Anbar in starting and supporting this initiative, which started from this university.

For his part, the President of the University of Anbar, Prof. Dr. (Mushtak Taleb Nada), praised the importance of this symposium and that the University of Anbar is well aware of the importance of the role of research centres and supporting them by all means and capabilities to enhance their role in community service, and in advance his thanks to the advisers in the Prime Minister's Office for calling for this important symposium.

At the end of the symposium, the participants agreed on a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: supporting research centers and enhancing their role in community service in a way that enhances the success of the government curriculum, and the symposium also recommended activating the proposal for the establishment of the Scientific Research Council and allocating a budget for scientific research through research centres, and strengthening the partnership between research centres of universities with various state departments through contractual formulas that serve both parties.
