The minaret of Anah is coming back to life again

At the kind invitation of the Mayor of Anah District, the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage and the Pulse of Hope Foundation, the representative Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at the University of Anbar participated in the opening ceremony of the ancient minaret of Annah, on Tuesday, 30/5/2023 in the city of Anah in Anbar Governorate at the site of the minaret.

Due to the great importance of the minaret, it dates back to the Abbasid era (around the fourth century AH). Therefore, it was like the historical buildings and monuments in Iraq, which were vandalized and destroyed, as the minaret was destroyed and completely demolished due to military events during the operations to liberate the city of Anah from terrorist squads.

Mr. Abdul Nasser Thabet Muneer Al-Rawi, who represented the centre at the opening ceremony, thanked and praised the local government in the Mayor office for inviting the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre to attend the ceremony, and stated that the center has a future plan to lay the first brick for the establishment of a research station in the district affiliated to the University of Anbar, and blessed them with this achievement, wishing progress to the people of the city of Anah and success for its local government.
