Methods of collecting soil and water samples and transporting them to the laboratory

Under the auspices and supervision of the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation in the Presidency of our University and under the direct follow-up of the Director of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, Prof. Dr. (Ammar Hatem Kamel), and over three days for the period from Sunday, 28-5-2023 until Tuesday, 30-5-2023, the second internal laboratory course, tagged with: (Methods of collecting soil and water samples and transporting them to the laboratory), was held at the centre's headquarters.

Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Badie Farhan and Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Arshad Ali lectured in the course, with the participation of the laboratory staff in the centre's laboratories and the staff specialized in collecting samples at the terminal station in Haditha, which is affiliated to the centre as well.

The course included the correct scientific methods for sampling from aquatic environments, whether taken from river water, lakes, ponds and well water, as well as methods of sampling soil and containers used to transport soil and water models and their types, whether glass or plastic containers, which are also chosen not arbitrarily used, but according to the type of test conducted on the sample, the appropriate containers are chosen to take the models and the period allowed to conduct the test after taking the sample, and the course also touched on the importance of taking a side Prevention and protection when sampling in addition to other topics. At the end of the course, a written exam was held for the participants.
