Investing the energies of researchers for new recruits Panel discussion on cancer treatment with nanotechnology

Within the plan of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre to invest the scientific and research energies of the newly appointed researchers and open research lines in the field of public health to achieve the third goal of the sustainable development goals ((good health and well-being)) a panel discussion was held entitled:

[Green Synthesis of Nickel and Zinc Oxides Nano-particles and Study of their Biological Applications]

It included a lecture delivered by the assistant teacher (Baraa Youssef Hussein), one of the staffs who were assigned to the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre. The lecture dealt with an advanced method for the treatment of types of cancer using nanotechnologies and from natural materials that can be the nucleus of a green treatment that is in harmony with the pursuit of an environmentally friendly green economy, as it adopts plant raw materials, and the researcher published during the research period, which was part of the requirements for obtaining a master's degree in chemistry from the College of Science, University of Anbar, two research papers in sober international journals. After extensive discussions, the panel discussion came up with a set of recommendations, including:

-         Approaching the College of Science (the owner of the intellectual property for research) and the College of Pharmacy at the University of Anbar to prepare a proposal on the possibility of marketing the production of treatment through the Cancer Oncology Centre after presenting the topic to a specialized team of the highest levels for evaluation.

-         Approaching the presidency of the university regarding the nomination of the researcher to complete his doctoral study inside Iraq or his nomination for one of the fellowships outside Iraq, which can be allocated to Iraq after coordination with the Department of Missions in the Presidency of the University and the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations in the Ministry to study the subject using technology with plants located within the environment of the cities of the Upper Euphrates.

-         Adopting this research line within the research plans of the Centre.

This seminar is part of a series of seminars that were decided to be held for new researchers to identify their capabilities and research orientations and the decisions of the scientific committee at the centre, which stressed the importance of courses and seminars to develop the skills and research experiences of the centre's staffs.
