In accordance with the directives of the presidency of University of Anbar. The university opens up to state offices in order to enhance the role of the University in the service of society, and also at the kind invitation of Eng. Jamal Odeh Samir, Director of Water Resources in Anbar, the Board of Administrative of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center held its third session for the year 2022in the Directorate building.

The Director of the Center and members of the Board of Admins expressed their high appreciation for this initiative, which come in light of the invitation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / The Office of Construction and Projects for all universities, with the support of the Ministry of Water Resources, in addressing water scarcity, in implementation of the decision of the Supreme National Committee for Water No. (1) for a year 2022 and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to take the necessary measures to implement this decision, which directed the Honorable President of the University to work on this issue and in cooperation with the Directorate of Water Resources in the governorate.

At the beginning of the session, the council listened to a detailed explanation enhanced by a video presentation of the problems and challenges facing the management of water resources in the governorate. It is related to flow rates or water quality in light of climatic changes and water scarcity, which calls for concerted efforts from various institutions, foremost of which is the university and its research centers, to find solutions and treatments through cooperation and integration with the Directorate of Water Resources in the governorate, which the director of the office indicated his full support for this trend. The Council hosted Prof. Dr. Isam Mohamed Abdulhameed, an irrigation expert and researcher in the center, listened to an explanation of the study he presented regarding the use of drains and saline water in irrigation, which the National Water Resources Center requested to cooperate with the center for the purpose of benefiting from and applying it..

After that, the topics on the agenda were discussed and recommendations were taken to submit them to the Presidency of University for validation.
