Meeting of the Administrative Council

The regular meeting (second session) of the Administrative Council of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center for the academic year 2020-2021 is held, chaired by Dr. Isam Mohammed Abdulhameed and attended by the respected members of the council and hosted the official of the terminal research station in Haditha Mr. Juma’a Mohammed Ahmed on Tuesday, 12 January 2021. The discussions contained the following issues:

First: The Second International Water Scientific Conference: After the scientific success of our first conference, 20 March 2019, one of whose recommendations was to establish this important forum every three years, the second version of the Conference is discussed for the period 20-21/3/2022.

Second: Support the research activity of the research terminal station in Haditha: In order to support the research activity at the research terminal station in Haditha, which is reliable in the support of the Center and the University with research and data related to its area of work.

Third: The Research Team for the Development of the Horan Valley: The requirements of the research team in charge of the Horan Valley Development Project and the establishment of a nature reserve in Western Desert of Iraq are discussed, as well as the international support for this important project, and contribution to the Scientific Conference for Conservation of the Environment organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature to be held in The French city of Marseille for 3-11 September 2021. By trading with our center board member and Technical Officer of the GIS system at the Canadian company info@urbanrefrom.ca it became clear that it required the opening of a banker credit and a website for the UEBD center to facilitate communication and overcome difficulties in establishing the reserve.

Fourth: The mechanisms of cooperation: After the support provided by Aghsan institution for agricultural and environmental development of our research center represented by the active participation of the funding of the first international scientific conference of water held on 18-20/3/2019 and the institution in cooperation with the Department of Desert Oases provided the university with seedlings The foundation pledged to provide another 1,000 seedlings to the research terminal station at the University site in Haditha and 2,000 olive trees for cultivation on campus next March, and discussed ways of cooperating with the above mentioned institution.
