A UOA Symposium on Transportation System of Anbar Governorate

Monday 21/5/2018, the College of Engineering held a symposium on transportation and road system in Anbar governorate. The symposium was attended by the dean of the college, deputy of Anbar governor for technical affairs, director of Anbar governorate roads, director of muncipalities, and a gathering of the university teaching staff members.

A number of lectures were presented in the symposium. Dr. Nazar Shaker Mahmood lectured on contemporary system for managing and planning roads in cities, using Ramadi as a case study. senior chief Eng. Mahdi Abed Farhan, director of Anbar roads and bridges, and assist. prof. dr. talal Hussein Fadil, a teaching staff member at college of engineering, lectured on the desroyed bridges in Anbar governorate and the means of rehabilitating them. Assist. Prof. Dr. Taher Mahmood Ahmed, a teaching staff member at college of engineering, lectured on Bio-Bitumen: a promising alternative binder for hot mix asphalt. Assist. lecturer Salah Sabar Thumail, a staff member at Center for developing Upper euphrates Basin, lectured on public transportation for university of Anbar. The last lecture was presented by Eng. Ahmed Mahdi, director of Ramadi Municipality directorate.

The symposium shows the role of the university in the service of society by contributing planns and future strategic projects.
