A seminar was held today, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, titled "Statistical Analysis for Estimating Future Water Needs for Industry and Energy in Anbar Governorate." The seminar was organized by the Department of Dams and Water Resources, Faculty of Engineering, Anbar University, as part of the activities of the first semester for the academic year 2023/2024.

The seminar featured a presentation by the student researcher, Anmar Jabbar Makhlef, under the supervision of Dr. Ayad Suleibi Mustafa and Dr. Juma Awad Hamad Al-Sumaidaie. The examination committee consisted of Dr. Khamees Naba as the chair, Dr. Rafid Saadoun as a member, and Mr. Haitham Zaidan Hussein as a member. The research aims to establish a database for water consumption in the industrial and energy sectors in Anbar Governorate and predict the water demand for these sectors until 2035 based on previous data. Several scenarios were prepared, and the best scenario for addressing the water deficit will be chosen if predicted. The seminar was attended by the Graduate Studies Committee, the Scientific Committee, and a number of faculty members and graduate students in the research and preparatory stages in the department.
