College of Agriculture is discussing a PhD thesis on date palm

College of Agriculture - University of Anbar witnessed a discussion of a dissertation attended by Prof. Dr. Idham Ali Abed , dean of the college,The effect of chemical, organic and biological fertilization on the growth and yield of the date palm variety Khastawi.

The thesis aimed at improving the quantitative and qualitative yield characteristics and vegetative growth characteristics of date palm trees of the Khastawi variety through chemical, organic and biological fertilization as well as determining the best levels of these materials and studying the effect of the interaction between the study factors in affecting the yield and vegetative growth characteristics of trees.

The researcher recommended the use of chemical fertilization according to a fertilizer combination, the addition of humic acid, and biological fertilization in the months in which growth cycles occur, due to their positive effect on the effect on the overall vegetative characteristics and yield of palm trees.

After extensive discussion by the committee members, the thesis was accepted after making the corrections recommended by the discussion committee. Mubarak to the student and the supervisor.
